When your car breaks down, what's the best way to find a tow truck?

AAA costs $64 a year even if you don't use it. I am wondering if there is a national number you can call to find a tow truck without being a member of an auto club.

Any advice would be appreciated!

All America Roadside Assistance is only $49.95 -- for 13 months! AND it's a family coverage -- member, spouse and children under 21 at home OR away at college. 28,000 tow trucks on-call nationwide. AND 100% of net proceeds goes to charities. You can beat it! Go to www.allamericaroadside.org.

A good roadside assistance plan should offer phone support to answer any questions you may have before signing up or to address any concerns once you're a member. The company should also offer email support as an additional option. Almost everyone has had a flat tire on their car at some point. If you haven't, you probably will have one sometime in the future.
