how can u spot a fake louis vuitton purse?

I have a purse that this girl left at my apartment. she moved out and forgot a lot of stuff, including this louis vuitton bag. i was wondeering, how i can tell if its fake or not. it has the numbers inside, it has the lv design upside down on the back of the purse, and it smells of leather. help me!

All of the rivets / zipper head will have Louis Vuitton stamped (on each of them and) on the Leather Tag (s) that is usually on the end of the zipper (some styles that have zippers)

A Louis vuitton store can guarantee authenticity.
Check the inside for a individual number code,the side finish looks like its has been melted smooth.It will say Louis vuitton Paris made in France inside the purse/wallet all buttons will have Louis vuitton stamped on.The stitching is so fine and to perfection.

To be authentic it would have to be purchased directly from a Louis Vuitton boutique. (LV doesn't wholesale...period) Louis Vuitton wraps ALL of their items the same, gift or not. Any new wallet from LV comes with a soft "sleeper" pouch, and is inside a dark brown box that opens like a drawer. Then it's placed inside a dark brown Louis Vuitton shopping bag. No one would ever take the item out of this beautiful packaging so if it wasn't wrapped like that, then it's fake.

you can usually tell an imposter by the markings. EG: like if you buy a pair of fake nikes the swoosh is usually backwards , or if you buy a fake Tommy Hillfigure shirt it's usually cheaply made or the tag may be sewn in the shirt crooked .. there are usually things that you can spot out that tell's you if its an imposter .... keep a carefull eye ..!!!

Well, my sister has a fake, that also has the lv upside down. Usually the fake ones will still smell of leather. The lining of the handles should have a red outline and the LV sign shouldnt be cut off at the sewing anywhere.

check it has louis sign in side and the pattern on the out side is that of the louis pattern and mainly it should have a silver bar stuck to it were the purse or bag opens of fastens

It's fake.

Louis Vuitton bags are made or vinyl, believe it or not. That is why I do not care for them. It is too easy to make a fake aswell. Only the trim on the purses is made of real leather, and the rest is the nasty vinyl. So obviously, it wouldn't smell of leather if it was real.
