Do not Pay them The Money, They should not even have told you this, But it seems as though with what I had to go through with them three weeks ago, Looks like I'm not the only one/customer they are trying to stiff or dime out. Here is what you do, First being that you are the customer and if you have been with them for some time like a year or more they Sprint should tell you of other services that you can transfer your number to,It's not the customers fault that there is no Sprint Services in your new area and you shouuld not have to pay such an amount. I to moved to another State that had a Sprint location but because I did not pay my bill on time Sprint CLOSED my account out send it to a Collection agency and gave my Georgia Number to another Customer, They wanted me to Pay $397 before I could establish service again, Well I told them that I was not going to pay this and that unless they FIX it so that I could get a new number due to being with them for TWO Years I told them that I would contact the BBB, No company wants this to happened The Better Business Bearue will get to the bottom of things. Please e-mail for more details If you wish BUT DON'T PAY THIS AND TELL THEM THAT YOU WILL CONTACT THE BBB AND SEE WANT THEY CHANGE THEIR TONE. AND Be Very Serous about it, They Have LOST whatever Company MIND they had. That's BULL-SH&*&*)*)*T. Reading your question just made me Upset, Because Of what they tried to pull on me. I will say I am HAPPY because Not Only did I NOT Pay the $397 when my last bill with them was $175.00 I now have TWO NEW PICTURE PHONES and all I did pay was $196 with FEE ACTIVATION FOR BOTH PHONES (new), This Is why I say DON'T PAY THEM.

Ask Sprint for a copy of your contract. I have had previous cell phone contracts that have specified that the contract could be broken in the event that you move out of the company's service area. I think that's pretty standard.

No, you need to change your service. You may have to go to the "Nationwide plan." But, cannot imagine where Sprint would be out of service. If it's that far out they wont find you to collect the $300 bucks anyway!

Im afraid your gonna have to cough up the $300 bucks. I had to get out of my contract also because of service where I was at sucked. Like the last guy said Cell phone companies DONT CARE, all they want is that money.

You are in a contract with them to pay monthly as long as they provide you with service. If they can not provide service where you are moving to, that is their issue, not yours. It may take a few tries to get a representative that will do it properly for you, but be persistent. There is no reason to pay them a termination fee because they can't offer you service.

yes, change your plan to the nationwide plan and see if that works, OR switch to Nextel, if they work in your area, since sprint and nextel are the same company you wont incur any charges except for the new phones youll need
