why do men feel that the woman would rather hear a lie than the truth?

If you think your woman is that shallow, then why be bothered with her. We don't mind telling ya'll *ss the truth? I think alot of marriages would be saved if the men told the truth and not what he thinks the woman "needs" to hear. You all are not that smart to think for us. Stop it and tell the truth or do nothing that you need to cover up from us.

Well I personally think men wont tell you the truth because they are reflecting their own personalities...they cant handle the truth, therefore they think their women cant. Their ego needs to be fed, much more than a woman's does. Women are pretty intelligent creatures and quite good at problem solving, and the truth is always the easiest to handle for the majority of us because we then know where we stand and can work out ways to solve the problems. Men, on the other hand, need to be loved and respected at all costs...hence they lie. They dont want to admit they are doing or saying the wrong thing because it would hurt their ego and the role they have projected to others. They dont like being wrong. In saying that, however, there are cases where both men and women dont want the truth. Some women know their men are cheating but will not get the proof because if they had the truth they would then have to act, and sometimes it is easier to close your eyes than to deal with the truth. Some women arent as strong as others are. But I have also see that the women who know the truth but are being fed lies are not happy anyway, so maybe if their man was smart, they would give them the truth even if its not what they wanted to hear because at least it would make the woman grow up and deal with situations she doesnt want to deal with. It is only when tough things come along in our lives do we become strong. And a man who continues to lie to his wife needs a woman who is dependant on him. He doesnt want her to grow to be strong, he wants to keep her this poor defensless little creature who needs him, no matter what. Statistically speaking, it is men more than women that will go from a broken marriage into another relationship pretty quickly......I think that is because they cannot make it on their own as much as women can. I honestly believe women are the stronger sex. We can deal with much more than the average man can cope with. And only when men can see as as strong and capable will they start being honest.

Thats probably why it is the strong independant beautiful women are left behind because of the more "needy" ugly/middle of the road women, that men seem to find less threatening.

Honestly, what makes you Y'all think you could handle the truth? I know lies are deceitful and hurtful but, so is honesty. Don't get me wrong I think a real man or woman is more of a man or woman who tells the truth. Sometimes it just goes that way. You know what? Its not just men either. You would rather be lied to if I was in a room with you and another woman a fine, fine woman and you asked me " is that woman sexier than me"? Do you honestly think I am ignorant enough to say "yeah, baby she's got a hold on me that you had never had". What would you think? Either way we would be dogs. So, why not be a good dog and lie and say "Dam girl! You know no woman can do or wear or make themselves up the way you can baby! What would you prefer. When a man lies potentially for the reason for your sake, not to hurt you but to gratify your feelings and this goes with women as well. Baby, its a catch 22 and a stone that has a root....

I've had a lot of relationships end because I told the truth. Your opinion on this is very situational.

The truth of life, and the relationships we are in often times are too big of a pill to swallow. The truth hurts and only complicates situations – so it should come as no surprise that people trick themselves into believing something that isn’t true. Many people do not want to dig for the truth, or just accept things at face value because that truth can lead to heartache; ignorance is indeed bliss. Thus, people rarely see the world as it really is.

Men lie, women lie. It doesn't really matter because you'll believe whatever you want to believe.

And that's the truth.

I couldn't agree with you more and I'm the biggest one to blame for my lies told in the past, for me it was ( not now) an ego thing being a male chauvinist pig, and also the fact I was living in denial myself and didn't want to face the truth, you know It doesn't have to be strictly men even though most of the time the women are the victims, but for anyone to start out with a little white lie, eventually it will grow or produces bigger ones and before you know it your whole life seems like a lie.

This has a lot of truth, a old man friend of mine told me one time that men do it and I quote him "because that is what women what to hear, they really don't want to hear the truth, they rather have a happy ending in everything." I personally believe that is bull $&!^!!! O.k there are some women who would rather hear a lie, but after a while, when you are in a realtionship a man should really know his woman and how to talk to her! Lies are just bad! And as for my self lying to me is just as bad as cheating on me!!!

Honey plse, they dont spare OUR feelings by not telling us the the truth. They hide **** b/c THEY don't want to lose what they have, or are not man enough to accept responsibility for what they have done. I think a woman should be allowed to make up her mind about the relationship based on the truth. IT ALL COMES OUT EVENTUALLY ANYWAY.

they think we nag to much and we wouldn't nag so much if they were more honest and caring at times... lol, not a male basher or anything but i definatly am very tired of my husbands lies!! over stupid things too!! its very insulting to our intelligence and the truth ALWAYS comes out eventually so i suggest the truth is better b/c when you've been caught in a lie they will be triple times ticked!
