I don't know much about DIY but I'm looking for a christmas gift for my father. Any recommendation?

Have you thought this through ? Your dad might actually prefer a belt sander, a drill stand, or something else. Try harder, I have a feeling that a laser level is NOT what he really wants, I'm 76, and I need a laser level like I need a hole in the head.
LATER The 2 guys in front of me have the right idea., Give them the money Barney !!!!
EVEN LATER I heard of a guy who gave his wife a food processor for her birthday, she left him for the window cleaner with tight jeans who brought her a bunch of flowers. !!!

there a lot of styles. there are ones that sit on a tripod and spin making a level line around an entire room.there are standard bubble levelswith lasers in them that shoot laseres up to the ceiling and over to a wall... it depends on the application what you want. i would liek to have either one personally. whatever you decide, just stick is a good quality brand.

The best leveling kit has to be the HILTI PR20 with remote control
mine cost me £1280.

you did ask for the best!

A $10 water level works incredibly well. No batteries, set-up,electricity,..... and you can't get more accurate.

Get him a subscription to Playboy, that's what he really wants. My dad was well chuffed last Christmas.
