Take it from someone who has experienced both. They are both excruciatingly painful but in different ways.
See a dentist. He/she can give you something for the pain and an antibiotic for the infection that is causing the pain. Then have them do something about that tooth so you don't have to suffer this pain again.
Good luck.

lol... funny story: I was in labour with my son for a total of 47 hours, 14 of which were intense. No drugs, just natural labour, and he was posterior so I had some serious back pain. Also, I was on the drip (pitocin) which hurt like a *&%#@! Eventually, I had a c-section, and there he was. Two days after that, while still in hospital recovering, I had the most INTENSE toothache I have ever had. The nurses thought I was post partum, the way I was constantly crying , I mean this was BAAAD. So bad I had to check myself out and have emergency surgery on the tooth the following day. Out of the two experiences, the toothache is one of which I wish to never encounter again!!!! So I say toothache, and although I never delivered vaginally, I'm sure that's what most other women will say too!

I have seen both my wives give birth and I would not want to have to go through that, women do die from giving childbirth, but let me tell you I had an infected botched root canal done that then needed to be pulled, the dentist gave me at least a dozen shots of Novocain and I felt everything he did as the Novocain had no affect since the tooth had an infection, on top of that since the tooth already had root canal work done on it, the tooth broke and he had to pull it out piece by piece cutting into my jaw, all this without the effects of any anesthesia, I would not want to have to go through that again either, I also hear passing a kidney stone is real bad. I saw a large masculine grown man crying like a baby when he was passing a kidney stone when I was in the emergency room at the hospital, still, I would put childbirth at the top of the list for pain.

It's all pain. Doesn't help which is worse. When I had my tonsils out, I cried. (I was 30.) When I had my baby - natural birth - I prayed someone would cut my throat. And I meant it.
I've had a couple of abscesses. It's bad. Get a hot water bottle, take some nurofen and go back to bed. It's an enduring kind of pain that doesn't go away.
Childbirth has moments of agony then a bit of a break, followed by another contraction. And it's the knowledge of what is coming that is the worst.
Everyone's different.

I have giving birth 5 times and I have had a toothache several times and I did not use any pain relievers for birth that helped. I must say I wanted a gun to shoot my head off with a toothache. Never asked for one for birth. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!!!!!

I don't know about childbirth, but I felt pain worse than any toothache when I had a uriny tract infection. That's the kind of pain that made me double over and my entire body shook. So even though toothaches really hurt, there is worse pain.

No the worst pain in the world is transgeminal neuralgia when your face is somewhere between numb and on fire.
Toothache is the second worst pain in the world along with sinusitis.
Childbirth is great, cos you are semi-high on gas/air and it's very rewarding so the pain doesn't count. It's you milk coming in a few days later that is agony if you are not breastfeeding!!!
Get yourself some nurofen down you, an hour later a couple of co-codamol and get into bed!!

I would rather have a toothache, I had to try and give birth without an epidural, and that is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life!

Some toothache can be very painful, but giving birth very, very painful. Close call but would say giving birth has the edge.
