From the smallest acorns Oaks may grow. Long distance relationships work, sometimes for that very reason! However you have to be very sure what it is you want from a relationship, as they can be incredibly frustrating as well. Open to all kinds of mis-interpretations and misunderstandings that simply don't occur when you can regularly see each other.

Let me just tell you that they suck. I mean you are in a releationship because you want to be with this person, however you are not going to be with this person all the time because they are so far away. I tried doing the whole Long distance releationship with a boy in South Carolina and I loved him and everything and I would of done anything for him. I would go down and see him once a month and everything and at first this is good and you are having a good time when you see the person and you talk everyday but then the calls start stopping and the emails thin out and the trips stop and you are wondering what is going on. What is he doing and why cant he be talking to me. I couldnt take it anymore and it ended. I mean the whole trust thing is there and it is hard mentally and physically. But if you want to do it good luck because you will need it.

They don't work. Too many things can happen when you are away from your boyfriend/girl fiend that you will never know about. On the other hand a long distance relationship could work just think of the great sex you will have when you see each other again.

The love of my life was a long distance relationship. She got to fly in once a month for a week. Unfortunately, like everyone predicted it didn't work - but it wasn't because of the distance.
I, being the rebel that I am, still went against norm and had the time of my life and don't regret one moment of that long distance relationship. Do what your heart tells you and you won't be sorry.

If you were apart when you met, proceed with caution. It takes a lot of trust to have a long distance relationship. People need the human touch. Some need it more than others. It didnt' work for me. But who's to say it won't work for anyone else? Just be careful.

I know of a few female couples that had them, and they DID work out. They talked on one of the messengers each night so they didn't have high phone bills and saw each other in person when they could. And eventually moved in together. You both have to be committed. ANd very much in love! My friend from Toronto put it best when she said," if my soulmate lived on the other side of the world I find a way to be with her."

I think if the heart is in it on both sides then it can work. But one day one of you will have to make the sacrifice to move, or you can both compromise on a place you both want to live and then mutually agree to move there.
