I think it's a lot more than that. The poor offensive line and not having Larry Fitzgerald are also contributing factors.

I agree that Fitz is hurting and the new Offensive Co-coordinator isn't helping. But it is mainly the fact the he is a Rookie Quarterback on a losing franchise. They have had other QBs in the past that showed signs of success but they just can't seem to get it together. Jake Plummer is a good example. I'm not comparing the two, but you can see that when a QB goes to a team with a good system, good players, and knows how to combine the two, how their success rate goes up. The Cardinals will turn into a winning franchise with Leinart and the other young talent they have, and I believe Dennis Green is the guy who will lead them to the promised land. But you have to give it time because the rate of flops vs. success stories for Rookie Quarterbacks is staggering if you look through the years. Not every rookie quarterback is gonna be able to do what Roethlisberger did. Troy Aikman went 1-15 his rookie year, and we all know how his career turned out. Give Leinart some time, and have a little patience with his mistakes, because I personally believe we could be seeing greatness in motion in Arizona.

It stems from not having a capable OL to help him turn into a good QB. Roethlisberger's success was due to being on an established team that had one bad year but mostly was a playoff-caliber team. The Cardinals are always an underachieving team no matter what's going on. Edgerrin James' struggles have to do with the OL and really in the draft, they should focus on getting Joe Thomas, an OT from Wisconsin if they aren't #1.

Also, the loss of Fitzgerald has to hurt enough too. You can't blame the OC after 1 or 2 games, can you?

I dont think its as much his fault but i think its the o-line they havnt been keeping the d out and there not giving liner enough time to throw or scramble out of there or let the pass develope thats also why edgerin james isnt doing to good they need new line men they need to work on that this off season

Yes part of the problem. I see two larger problem though 1) the Oline is not good enough and 2) he is a rookie and it is tough to play in the NFL as a rookie QB.

I attribute some of his struggles to Fitz's injury....defenses are doubling-up on Anquan Boldin and forcing Matt to throw to younger, second-tier guys...I think his production will increase starting this weekend with LF back (even if it's only spotty till he's really healed up).

there's a distinction, in 2007 Favre become "quickly" injured in Dallas. Rodgers got here in and Packer followers have been given a preview. He did incredibly nicely off the bench, in certainty have been given the Packers back into the sport after Favre stumbled the prevalent public of it. He carried out 18 passes for 201 yards, without interceptions and took the %. from a 17 factor deficit to interior of three factors. Packers followers raised their eyebrows and observed something there that gave us desire for the "retiring" Favre. So jointly as Rodgers might have been doubted, he out finished Favre through fact his debut. He hasn't stumbled, he has more advantageous gradually turning out to be an excellent 4 QB interior the NFL his Sophomore twelve months from #6 his Freshman twelve months. i think of the assessment may well be looking forward to Cardinal's followers yet they have already considered Leinart play. The Packers observed Rodgers thrive in that 2007 interest and continuously thrive as each interest passes.

i think his troubles stem from the fact that his offensive line sucks and he isn't very mobile.
