is a Sin, and that as Believers in Christ we shouldn't do it, just like we shouldn't lie, or commit adultery or steal, you get my point.

If that same Pastor preaches that exact same message for 45 minutes straight Ignoring other such related "sins", Yes. He is spreading Hate and promoting an an Agenda by excluding other sins or focusing on one particular set above any other.

Whether it's teaching actual hate depends on where he goes with it afterwards. Preachers like Jerry Fallwell and Rev. Phelps very plainly go into the whole hate and fear thing; but if this hypothetical preacher stops at "like lying or adultery, we should avoid the temptation," then he's just teaching his doctrine. That it's one I find distasteful does not make it preaching hatred.

Many christians do spread hate and fear; southern baptists being among the loudest. Many other christians preach tolerance, understanding and forgiveness - I think it's the anglicans (or at least a branch thereof) that have become most known for this. Just as it's wrong to say that all homosexuals act in a specific way, it would be wrong to say that all christians act in a specific way.

i do no longer understand that each and one and all clergymen/preachers/ministers have the comparable guidance. I mean, look at 'Weezy's' reaction. Her writing type and what she says depart me thinking precisely how lots coaching she rather has. What does she study while she thinks she reads the Bible? I assemble that a number of those respondents think of you nevertheless prepare at a seminary college. while they do no longer even study the question wisely, how are you ever meant to get any sense into their heads? i've got theory approximately preaching earlier-with the aid of fact it particularly is this type of 'comfortable' interest that brings in good money... i desperate i could sense too accountable, nonetheless. That, and that i'm uncertain i ought to lie that long.

Many so-called "christians" do spread hate and fear.
When they say being gay is against being "christian" they are lieing.
Jesus NEVER Said ANYTHING one way or the other about being gay.
He did, however say to LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. Never once did he condemn anyone who was in a committed, loving relationship. Never once did he condemn anyone who was compassionate and accepting.
He ONLY ever preached LOVE, Loyalty and compassion.
If a gay man is LOYAL and LOVING to his partner, isn't that still LOVE? Isn't that what Jesus preached? Isn't that exactly what He wanted?

Yes, for ANY Christian to EVER use the Old Testiment, especially Levitical/Mosaic Laws as a means to "prove" or "justify" hate against gays or to deny them EQUAL LEGAL RIGHTS are themselves LIARS and should NOT BE TRUSTED!
That person is NO CHRISTIAN!

I personally despise being lied to by a preacher.
My own preacher when I was growing up had a gay son. We where never taught that gay was wrong. He never preached hate toward gays.
I had no problems reconciling my being homosexual and my being a Christian.

I'm gay and I don't need for you to hate, love or have no feelings towards me. I am not requesting nor do I need your approval or disapproval of me as a person or my behavior.

What I need from you as my fellow citizen is to acknowledge I was created as your equal. And I need for you to not keep me from my life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Even if that happiness means a state approved same sex marriage.

Never hate anyone. Try to convince them to turn from it because it is a sin.

Homosexuality is a sin. Don't engage in it like you're not to engage in premarital sex, lust, desire, want, etc. etc. Its just easier to hate gays than liars, fornicators, and needy bastards.
