Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" is the third official single from Panic! at the Disco. The music video was filmed on June 19, 2006 in Los Angeles, California, and premiered on MTV2 on July 14, 2006.

The theme of the song is teenage romance, and it discusses teenagers dancing and having sexual relationships. It also deals with infidelity.

The song's title originates from a line in the 2004 film Closer, starring Natalie Portman. Another Panic! At the Disco song uses the next line in the film: "But It's Better If You Do".

The single bears the parental advisory sticker, for a few instances of the f-word. The album in which it appears, however, is not stickered.

[edit] Video
Like the song itself, the video seems to suggest adultery. In it, a woman picks up a stray fish, suggesting that she would accept any change from her present situation. Her husband then kills himself after learning of her affair. Realizing her mistake, the woman understands that there is no pleasure in being unfaithful. She knows that she would rather be with him than anyone else.

The video was released in July 2006, features people in fish tanks and Tim Burton-esque surrealism. The video only shows the band in one scene (the paramedics are the band members), because the band felt that their looks were distracting from their music.

The water in the tanks seems to represent the person's life force as the heroine dies when she tips her head and loses her water. The fishes could also represent the people in their lives as the goldfish the woman picks up seems to represent the man she is cheating on her husband with.

It is also believed that the fish could represent the number of times one had sex. When the woman finds the fish on the ground and adds it to her tank, it could represent that she had an affair. When her husband sees that she has an extra fish in her bowl, he kills himself.

The single has not received wide rotation on radio and the music video failed to chart on TRL.

First meaning- Girls (women) are meant to be either sex objects or manipulative. The whole ***** or whore complex. Many music videos and music in general (including music sung and written by women) protray women is subordinate positions and as sex objects rather than real beings. This is partly why so many industrialised nations where MTV and the like are popular *coughUScough* have such high rates of Rape and violence against women. If you look at Margaret Meads research, however, you'll find that the "gossipyness" (b!tchyness) is really a learned behavior- in some societies that have and do exsist men actually develop this trait.

Why the ought to lie? Why no longer basically take a warm bathtub or call up one in all your girlfriends, have a coffee, bypass procuring, and so forth.. Why experience compelled to lie to entertain your self, this is particularly unhappy.

I think it is trying to validate infidelity & lying for women as "fun".
Bottom line is it isn't cool for either women or men to do. It just wastes time & creates unneeded frustration for the other party.

I LOVE PANIC! AT THE DISCO! (and of course Brendon Urie also). The song is about teen love, how heated it is and how everybody cheats on everybody.

My ex thinks about it as this girl had sex with one of her exes and now she's with the guy she loves and really wants to be with and she regrets what she did with the ex. And he's telling her that she's being selfish thinking that everything is about her....that's about it.

LOVE IT!
