By ignoring them. Don't let them know what is up. This is a immature handling of a rotten situation. I would rather know if he is done with me then wait around for a couple of weeks crying my eyes out because I believe he cared about me. You don't treat someone you really have feelings badly by ignoring them!

Let's say that you bought something together, say a 1984 Corvette. Offer to sell the car prior to the breakup so that you can split the cash together, then sell it for $5.00. Works every time.
