Laurel and Hardy without shadow of a doubt... perfect timing... perfect humour... so universal, proof that you dont have to be crude to be funny.

Any one who disagrees watch 'The music box' or 'Them Thar Mountains'

The strange thing was that after 4 years together they kept a professional distance, but they went for a game of golf (which was babes favourite hobby) and because good firm friends.

The great thing about it was that Laurel was dumb, and hardy was dumb, but hardy thought he was smart and so the hilarity came.

hardy - 'you never met my wife did you?'
laurel - 'yes, i never did'

note - and the person who said 'who's on 1st' abbot and costello had a great sketch there, but nothing in comparison

Morecambe and sensible must be the Kings of Comedy double acts their shows attracted the right stars. Their specials at Christmas consistently hit the right of the scores. The giggle brothers are greater geared in the direction of infants so a lot of persons would not have even heard of them. I somewhat have in no way seen their shows yet I somewhat have heard of them.

This question is going to get heaps of answers. My favourite American duo was also Laurel & Hardy. Their earlier training in silent shorts really paid off, particularly Ollie's look of frustration and the business with the tie.

British is Pete & Dud (AKA Derek & Clive) Peter Cook was just the most brilliant comic mind. Their one legged tarzan sketch was fabulous.

In the 'still alive' category, I liked a little bit of Fry & Laurie. Fans of House should get hold of the tapes and see what Hugh Laurie was up to before Stuart Little.

Yeah. I totally agree Laurel and Hardy were the very best. Stan Laurel created a lot of the scenes but if it were not for Oliver Hardy's pure genius they might have struggled.

In my work I drive past the Laurel and Hardy museum which is based in Ulverston, England where Stan Laurel was born.

Good question, Laurel & Hardy? Morecombe & Wise? Richard Pryor & Gene Wilder? I always thought Mel Gibson & Danny Glover made the lethal weapons worth watching.

Laurel & Hardy
"Pardon me one moment - my ear is full of milk."
Laurel in squeaky, complaining tears was wonderful, but nobody could do a double-take or manage a pearler like Ollie. It wasn't just the impeccable timing. It was the sense of upended dignity he invariably conveyed. He was the daintiest fat man ever, capable of portraying a world of appalling injustice in one long look.

In my opinion it would have to be Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. They were a class act. Abbott and Costello
were okay but not as funny.
