I bought a direct-vent wall furnace from Home Depot online. I've been trying to return it for over a month because the gas company would not approve it. I have tried everything I can think of to speed this up. I have called 6 times in the last 33 days & every time I call I get a different story about their policy and how long it will take to get a shipping label in mail, or to get a phone call from the trucking company that's going to pick it up.
They are really giving me the run-around on this.
And no, I can not take it to a Home Depot store, I've asked that a few times, and they can not e-mail a shipping label for me to print out.
Any suggestions on how I can handle this matter? Is there any place I can call to report them? I have even told them that I am disabled and this huge box is in my way & I keep almost falling bumping into it (that is not a lie).
Any help would be appreciated.
I couldn't find a category to put this in, hopes it's ok in this one.

When you've called, are you speaking with a supervisor, always go up the chain if your not getting answers. Is their a way for them to give you a tracking number or? for the shipping label? Last, you could contact their headquarters and tell them your problem. Hope that helps, I don't really know anything about Home Depot policy.. Best of luck..

Let the Attorney General and the BBB know about this situation in a letter. I would be suprised if the problem does not get an expeditious exodus out of your home. You might look toward a law firm to see if it would be worth taking it to court...if nothing else is effective. Hopefully, someone has had a similar experience and gives you better advise than I! Good luck!!!

I work for the Home Depot...I don't know who you'e been trying to call...the number I give to everyon is 1-800-79-depot. I can't promise anything will be quick, though, as we service millions of people if this is the number you've been using let me know and I will try to find another way to figure this out. Truthfully, if you are having this much trouble the store manager where you usually shop should take it into their own hands and try to put you first.

I don't know if this will work but I have seen it in the goodhouse keeping magazine. Go to their website and tell them what is going on. I have seen alot of people get help there. I would also suggest talking to the manager at the on line place and the manager in your local store. If that doesn't help tell them that you need to talk to a district manager

Call one of the local media. Is there a consumer help reporter on one of your local TV news programs? I am sure they would stumble all over themselves to get to you with the story you just told. If Home Depot is like any business in North America they won't like the adverse publicity.
It's getting down & dirty, but it gets results fast.

Go to the home depot store, and see if the manager or somebody in that dept can help you get a shipping label. If that doesn't work, try e-mailing them, and send a copy (cc) to the better business bureau.
If that doesn't work, see if you can send it COD back to them.

If you bought on line, I would assume you paid for it by credit card. When the bill comes in, you should dispute the charges, and tell the credit card company the item you bought was not approved for use and your trying to return it. This will get them involved with HD as well as your continuing calls.
