That is not true. For one, that has been proven wrong again and again. Change the world is all men on earth do. When the department of defense invented this here internet, I would say that changed the world. When gasoline and other refined oil came about, I would say that changed the world. When the atom was split in Los Alamos New Mexico by US scientists, that changed the world. When Hitler executed countless Jews that changed the world. When Stalin murdered four million of his own countrymen, that changed the world. Electricity, Banking, Discovery and expansion has all changed the world. The key is not to insist on change, but progress. While your vote or my vote doesnt affect who gets elected, the citizens of this country as a whole does. And while we may not be able to influence what those people do very much, we must use our best judgement in who we select to lead us. Do we want strong leadership? Or Weak? Do we want low taxes or high? Strong homeland security or Weak homeland security? Strong Economy or weak Economy? These are things you and everyone else does care about whether you recognize and admit it or not. You dont want some people to come into your house and murder your family, cut off your head? I advise that even if you choose not to vote out of frustration that you remember that you do so because you are free to do so. Enjoy that freedom to not worry about who represents you. Perhaps you will live and die not caring and not notice any difference in the people that everyone elects for you, but you know what? That freedom to not care is given to you by those people who represent you. No other country on earth has people who could care less about government as in the US. And that is a testament of our superiority and stregth and greatness as a nation, I personally will be there to do my part, and you can too if you want...

Right. But our laws impact us every day. Abortion, for instance, is a right that exists today, but may not in the future, depending on who's in office. Also, taxes and fiscal policies vary by administration- impacts my bank account. Additionally, the men & women at war may have a slightly different task in Iraq under a different leader.
I don't thik I look to politics to change the world, but I do look to politicians to set sound policies that will sustain us into the future.
For a world-changing leader, I go to church.

I have more faith. If you believe the process doesn't work its only because you (most likley) do not participate. Geezz George took office we got a long over due tax break. The defecet is way down - unemp is way low - stock market is up - interest rates for homes is down.. Captial gains is down which means I was able to cash in some investments and go on a vacation..We haven't had a terroist attack on our homeland since 9-11 ...
.I think the process works perfectly........

the only situation which will exchange my vote is that if John McCain dies until eventually now the election and then i'm going to vote for who ever takes his place for the Republicans. there's no longer even a snow balls threat in hell that i might vote for every person with so little adventure and such questionable pals as Obama.

Actually yes. Would you rather politicians get there by force. We vote to voice our opinion. It is what sets us apart from 3rd world nations.

If people didn't think voting could change things, we wouldn't have a voting system. If you TRULY BELIEVE that "man can't change this crappy world", do you only exsist in it?...such a waste of mind and body.

Will it change anything? Maybe. Maybe not.
But one thing is certain - NOT voting will NEVER change anything.
