I'm not asking how it was created. I'm sure the water thinks the sugar and the Kool-aid came like a meteor from outerspace too. My question is was put there for this reason?

Monica, the Moon which reflects light from the Sun and the Earth; all got created by a design by Nature. And human species was created so that in spite of all these, it can survive. Cooling effect is the feeling of moonlight because of the sensory perception called touch felt by the skin. It is relative to the feeling of sensation.

There are some scientists that believe that the earth and all of its lifeforms, all were an accident. If Earth had happened to be closer or further away from the sun, we never would have been to start with.
And the moon was a result of a collision of something that crashed into earth in its still molten state. It too was an accident, but a fortunate one for us because of the tides.
As far as the light? Just reflected light from the sun.

The moon does two very important things for life on earth.

1) It causes the tides which cleanse the shorelines and keep the ocean currents flowing.

2) It stabilizes the earth's orbit around the sun.

So yes, God put it there for a reason.

No, because the moon isn't a source of light or illumination in itself. Its surface just reflects the light emitted by the star that's closest to it: the Sun.

the moon in theory was a planet in our solar system millions of years ago when our solar system was a lot more violent then it is today. It collided with earth creating a huge explosion and the earth trapped the moon in its gravitational pull.

The Moon used to be alot closer to earth than it is today.

Nope. The moon has been around longer than the human race. The way it got up in the sky has nothing to do with us.
