(-4x^4)² = (-4x^4) * (-4 x^4)
= (- 4) *( -4) * (x^4) * (x^4)
= +16 * x^(4 + 4)
= 16x^8

4th power+2 power=6th power
(-4 to the 6th power)
then just multiply it out, i dont have a calculater handy, srry!

You are basically saying:

[(-4x)^4]^2

Solve the brackets first:

(-4x)^4 = (-4)^4x^4 = 256x^4

Now you have [256x^4]^2. This simplifies to:

256^2x^8 -----------> 65536x^8
