Death
On November 7th, 2006, Betty White was involved in a massive 7 car pile-up on one of California's most notoriously dangerous highways, "Highway 387", also nicknamed "Death Row" by some. At the time of the accident, she was on her way to visit her longtime friend, Mary Tyler Moore.
She was taken to Light's Way Regional Hospital, but was pronounced dead at 12:58 UTC.

The death of anyone is very sad, especially someone who brought so much joy and happiness to the world. She will be missed. I can only pray she died instantly and did not suffer. I am sixty years old and have been a fan of hers for years.

Ohhh noooo, what tragic news!! I haven't watched or heard the news all day today. So I didn't know until now. This is so sad. She was a wonderful actress and comedian. Right up there with the best. I watched the many shows she has been on in T.V. for years and years. I thought she was so pretty when she was young and when she was old enough to play the Golden Girls even! She held her age well. My heart goes out to all her loved ones and her family. She will be greatly missed.

so long. One time my sister and I sat down to
watch a game show and I guessed the clue would be Betty White and it was. After her long
time husband Allen Luden passed away she did
her time of mourning but came back stronger than ever and she had a crazy, cool attitude &
could really play the comic or the meany. I bet
Mary Tyler Moore must be devastated.

I've just heard it first from you and it makes me incredibly sad. I agree with you about her being an amazing comedienne. She was amazing on the Mary Tyler Moore show and Golden Girls. She was beautiful also, in youth and as she got older, physically and spiritually. She loved animals. I'm so sorry to hear about her death, especially in this tragic circumstance. I hope and pray there were no other deaths in this accident. I can just imagine how Mary Tyler Moore has reacted to this news.

You might want to check another source. There is nothing on any news site about this. Anybody can write what they want in that Wikipedia site. I can not find anything about this anywhere. I would not believe everything you read online. I am not saying it is not true, but something that happened 4 hours ago my time, would be on the news by now. The hospital doesn't even exist according to a Google search. Have a good day.

OMG, I did not know. She was one of the celebritys that all people my age remember growing up with (golden girls, etc). She will be greatly missed by many. Thanks for telling me. RIP, Betty.

It has allready been proven that BETTY WHITE DID NOT DIE!! That is a horrible thing to make up, and you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Oh Good Heavens! She seemed like a wonderful lady throughout the years. I wonder if her gorilla buddy will sense the loss? (I'm serious. She visited with KoKo quite a bit and wanted Ellen DeGeneres to come with her).

OMG!! I am in complete and total shock right now! I've been watching her on television since I was a kid. That is the saddest thing. She was such a wonderul actress...she will be missed terribly!!

She was funny and a good actress. She will be missed by many people. I miss her most from the old games show Match Game.
