what is the latin word that means "post war" or "after war". I know i have heard it before but cant find in in my thesaurus or dictionary. It would be the antonym to antebellum.

Actually, it's simply postbellum.

Right-- Ante means before as in "antecedent" or "ante up".... no poker player I know would let you ante after the hand :)

Postbellum is for after the war.
