Hello,
I usually use Obagi #3 Clear (skin corrector cream) w/ hydroquinone, but I recently found out that I am pregnant and I stopped using the cream because I was afraid that hydroquinone might have a negative effect. Does anybody know if hydroquinone is not recommended for pregnant women? Can anybody recommend a skin bleaching/lightening cream (for hyperpigmentation) that is safe to use on pregnant women? Are kojic and glycolic acid safe? Can somebody please let me know what is safe and good to use while pregnant? Can you please give me a specific product name because I really want to purchase one? Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

I also use Obagi and have worked in the field for many years. The answer is no, you cannot use any of the steps except for #1 (the cleanser), #2 (the toner), and #6 (SPF). A natural skin lightener that you can use while pregnant is phyto (Skinceuticals makes one). It is always smart to ask your OB as well, but that is what we recommended for our patients at a couple different Plastic surgeons offices. Hope this helps!

This is something that you need to speak to your doctor about. I used a skin bleaching cream once while pregnant, that I had used before with no problem, but while pregnant it gave me a horrible rash.

As far as I know, skin bleaching creams are good for you in the first place. So I would think it would also be a bad idea while pregnant.

Im sorry but I forgot the name brand that I used to use for stretch marks. But Its the brand with a tummy outlined on the bottle. But Its different for many women. Some women get zero stretch marks and some women get the really bad ones up and down the whole stomach. I had none up until the last month of my first pregnancy and I got some crawling from the bottom of my tummy and I was spreading that lotion on every single day. I have a feeling I will get more during this second pregnancy. I also tried many different face washes... your hormones are crazy when your pregnant... nothing really helped with me.

Check the package....if it could cause any sort of harm to a pregnant women, there HAS to have a written warning. Also, you could call your doctor and double check. Oh and search around online for a list of safe and unsafe products. I know rule of thumb is that any chemicals soaked into the skin can cause as much harm as a medication ingested, so I would double check with your doctor. Good Job being careful!

Hydroquinone's really bad for your skin you shouldn't be using it any way if you really must use a skin bleaching / whitening whatever you wanna call it you should look for one without hydroquinone and with as many natural products as possible. That way it'l be better for you and your baby if you still wanna carry on using it while your pregnant. This is one that doesn't have any hydroquinone :
