Does a abortion increase the chances of having a misscarriage?

There do not appear to be any convincing studies that would indicate that surgical abortions have any significant link to increased miscarriage rate -- at least for the first abortion.

One study may point to an increased rate after multiple abortions.

There seems to be no evidence at all that emergency contraception or non-surgical abortions could cause later miscarriages.

I know somebody that had 5 abortions and was a drug abuser and now she has 4 kids and never misscarriage

I have read somewhere that it does increase the chance of having a miscarriage; however, I know a couple of people who has had a few abortions and still were able to give birth to beautiful normal babies with no problem at all during their pregnancies. Because of this, it's difficult for me to say if abortions and miscarriages were actually related to each other or if it's just a coincidence. The only thing I can think of that could cause/increase the chance of miscarriage after an abortion is, if some organs got damaged somehow while they performed the abortion, but I am not a doctor so I can't prove this. The best thing for you to do would be to speak with doctors/researchers.

It is a proven fact that abortion most certainly DOES increase your risk of miscarriage of future children. This is well documented by the medical community (and not by anti-abortion groups I might add).

Consider this:

http://ije.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/32/3/449

That's an article from the International Journal of Epidemiology. Probably, the most prominent medical journal that deals with cross sectional research of disease. These are the types of people qualified to do publish research on the matter and are the ones considered the authority on research of this sort.

Now, think about something. The medical literature is filled with such research. Yet, whenever you go to any pro-abortion organization or, worse, ask an abortionist (doctor who makes his living killing babies), they lie and say there are no risks or other problems. What does this say about if you can trust them? Should you listen to them? Why would they lie to you about something like this?

This is very important information for a woman to know. The right to abortion rests on "health of the mother". Yet, we see abortionists routinely and aggressively putting out false information that directly effects the health of the mother in a negative fashion. If the right to choose and the right to safeguard your own health over that of your baby's is the issue here, then why the lying? Why are abortionists interfering with a woman's right to INFORMED consent. You have a right to that info....the right to make a decision knowing the facts.

Abortion adovacates seek to strip you of that right and to put your health and your future baby's health at risk as part of a sick agenda.

Resist them.

nope. the only way it would increase the chances is if you get the abortion improperly done and they damage something...but that won't happen if you go to a real doctor which im assuming you will...so the answer is still nope.

I assume you are asking if a past abortion would increase the liklihood of a FUTURE miscarriage.

The answer would be a "No".

You take risks when you have an abortion but for the most part it's safe.

i dont want to just say "no" b/c im sure in certain cases, yes they can. probably depends on your body and how/when/by whom the abortion was performed.
