u can use them when figuring out grades! (in school). the mean, or average, is your average grade (that tells how well ur doing in a class). Median would be a middle grade that u have. mode would tell how many times u got a grade a certain number of times. i hope this helps!

well the mean is the average. For example, you take 5 tests in a class. by finding the mean you know how well you are doing overall.

Medians are not useful except in the math classroom setting. i do not know why someone would want to know what the middle number in a set of numbers is.

Mode i am sure could be useful. it is a number that appears most often. i don't know why specifically it would be useful but I'm sure it is. is like a guess of the mean sort of.

well, in any kind of science situation, like in a hospital, medical clinic, etc you use these all the time.

In business you would use them a lot, too. Like, if you wanted to compare sales between two months - which month had the highest average number of sales per day. Or which day of the week had the most average sales during the whole year. You might want to plan your supplies, and buying new inventory based on what you calculated for the previous year.

Of course, in farming you need to know what the average size of your animals is, how much they eat, on the average, etc.

So, if you are someone who is in charge of things and has to make reports and make plans, thenyou might use these a lot. Of course, if you are the low level minimum wage slob who just runs a cash register (Can you say, "any fries with that?" ) then you don't need to know about this sort of thing.

The only useful thing that we do in Mathematics that applies to everyday life is addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Everything else including mean, median and mode is just BS.
