I'm not sure because I consider myself still young at the age of 25 and have, since I was able to vote, been a conservative Republican. The older I get I realize I don't care socially about several issues the Republicans do but could never bring myself to vote for a Liberal. Only time will tell if my ideas or opinioins will change, but I certainly can't see that happening.

Age has nothing to do with your political views. If it did, how would we get any Democrats into the Senate?
Wisdom does come with age. But often, in our wisdom, we decide that we should give back, protect the environment, provide a cleaner world for our kids, stop laying the debts of our generation on our kids' backs. The wiser I get, the more I think Democrat.

With age comes wisdom, but people do become conservative, not really vote for repubs as much however. Most people are starting to like the Libertarians, if only they had someone running for president in 08'

I'm 49 and in my case that is true. I look back at when I was a democrat and sing give peace a chance, and sing love one another songs. Well that's all well and good in fairy tales but there is no utopia on this planet. Not to mention how many people I have seen abuse the system such as food stamps and financial assistance. Yes there should be help for those truely in need but hand outs are not the answer.

Show me the evidence. Were you a liberal when you were younger? Remember Churchill said " if you're under 30 and not a liberal you have no heart, if you're over 30 and not a conservative you have no mind". I'm neither lib or con but more in the middle and I think both sides have good things.

The major theory is that when you are young, you have a lot of ideals. You want to try and help everybody. Then as you get older you start focusing on yourself more. You have a family. You start thinking less about others and more about yourself and family. There is also the idea that you are further out of touch. It was the liberals who fought for civil rights. Many of the older people at the time grew up in a racists time and culture, so it was harder for them to want change then the young people.

Older real conservatives recognize that the current republican leadership has nothing to do with real conservative principles.
A majority of US Senior Citizens will vote democrat today. They know the republicans screwed them with Medicare Part D and tried to screw up social security. These people worked hard all their lives, they recognize the current batch of republicans are a bunch of theives.

I don't think so. As I watch the people around me age (I'm 31), most just get intellectually lazy. Those are the ones who tend to vote Republican. The ones who actually spent their lives trying to figure out what the world is about tend to get much more liberal as they age.

Conservativism can be charming.
Bigoted, judgmental and champions and perpetuators of moral hypocrisy are disgusting.
Can you discern a difference? The Republican party has cheapened conservatism and trampled on our political process. Today, some reversals of the evil regime has begun.
