What does 9/11 have to do with it? No Iraqis were involved in the World Trade Center attacks.

There really are not any good reasons. Sadam was a terrible person, but no more terrible than other dictators who have been supported by the US. The Iraqis have a lot of oil, and it is true that when we got to IRaq we protected the oil fields before we protected the hospitals, power plants and waterworks. But they were already selling us the oil, so why attack to get it? It probably helped President Bush's image, but even George Bush is not a bad enough guy to sacrifice thousands of young American soldiers just to win an election.
So, there's really no reason at all.
Sad, isn't it?

The real threat in the war on terror is Iran. We had no reason to run up in Iran and try to take over. Therefore in geopolitical war to gain the upperhand you must gain the strategic high ground. We went into Afghanistan and then went into Iraq. Take a guess which country is located right between Afghanistan and Iraq.

thats the thing...9/11 wasnt caused by Iraq so we shouldn't be at war with them. Bush is just finishing the job his dad started for whatever reason that was way back when.

Iraq was a mince to his neighbors and to his own people, he hated Iran, and we backed him in that war. Then he invaded Kuwait, and was trying to get WMD's and would have eventually. He would have used then on his neighbors like he did the Kurds, then he tried to have Bush Sr. killed, So Bush Jr. took him out. Saddam was looking to get his hands on other oil rich nations like Kuwait so he would control that part of the world, and become nutter than he already was. With Kuwaiti oil he could have bought any weapon he wanted. I really don't feel we did it for the oil, we get plenty of oil from other Arab Nations.

Simple because after desert storm, when then President Bush Sr. went to Kuwait Saddam tried to assassinate him.
When G.W. Bush got elected, Saddam was not and had not complied with any of the sanctions that had been imposed on him for attacking Kuwait.
Clinton had done nothing about his violations during his whole time in office.
G.W. a little upset about the attempt on his father, use the non compliance to go after him.
By the way. The reason France, Germany and Russia refused to side with the U.S. was because France and its business men were making millions off the oil for food program for one and selling Saddam weapons for another.
Germany was doing the same thing.
Russia, had a person in Baghdad telling Saddam our every move. They have been weapons suppliers of Saddam's for a long time.

The Reagan Bush presidency funded and provided nerve gas to Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran. The mistakes of Bush Sr's administration signald the go-ahead for Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait. Kuwait shortly before had spoken with the Soviets concerning providing shipping protection for Oil ships around the Iranian chokepoint straits of Hormuz (sp). Desert Storm was to liberate Kuwait. That was 1991 The US established two No Fly zones one in the North and one in the South. US fighter planes maintained Air Superiority for almost 10 years. The job was left unfinished and the war with Iraq finished it.

9/11 meant we should have been looking for and capturing Bin Laden in Afghanistan....not buying into the Bush regime's sick and twisted obsession with Iraq!

Only Bush knows.

I am so confused about all this with Bush, the "war" osama everything.

It seems like every week it is a different story a different lie or whatever. I hope one day we the people will be treated with the respect that we deserve and be told the truth about a country that WE are supporting with our hard earned money and people.
