Hi, i am not clear on the outputs of ps3. i have a non hd pal television. i would like to know will all ps3 features and blu-ray games (including blu-ray movies if there is such thing :P) work via the AV multi out used on ps2, or will i have to migrate to HD in order to use a ps3? also, will the graphics still be better then ps2 or will i be stuck with rubbish graphics until i upgrade to HD? please help!

Hi, its the person who asked the question. thanks for all your answers, i am now clear. all i have to do now is wait for the silly delayed european release as i live in the uk. oh well, march '07 is only 5 months away :P. one more question guys, i read that copyrighted blu-ray disks will only have a max resolution of 780i or something. i know nothing about tv resolutions. could anybody tell me if this is true, and if so, how good is that resolution and again will it work via AV.

Actually the graphics will be upgraded even on a regular TV

the HDTV just makes them look even better

(I have a 360 and I switch between a regular tv and my HDTV from time to time and sometimes I can't even tell the difference becuz it looks so good)

it's going to have 6 outputs (Regular yellow, white, and red)
and then for HDTV it'll have (Blue, Green, Red) and you'll have to plug in the white and red for audio

the ps3 is better on an HD TV. it doesnt mean u have to have an HD tv to use the ps3. you can have a regular tv and see the AMAZING graphics of ps3, but it is reccomended by SONY, gamspot, ign, etc... to take the ps3 to the fullest extent by using a HD TV. THERE IS A SUCH THING AS BLUE RAY MOVIES. FOR MORE INFORMATION WWW.GAMESPOT.COM THEY HAVE A PS3 LAUNCH CENTER AND AN ARTICLE ON EVERYTHING ABOUT THE PS3.

the ps3 comes with regular A/V cables.. red, white and yellow.. so you can use it on any non-hd tv and on any hdtv also.. it is also backwards compatible with any old ps2 cables you already have..

if you play your ps2/ps1 games on your ps3.. itll still be the same as if you were playing it on your ps1/ps2

umm it all depends what version you buy... if you buy the standard one the graphics will still be the same but the loading times will vary, so will the memory.... but to answer your question... both versions of the ps3 will look the same but better then the ps2 ^_^

specific, blu ray would be in HD via factor, yet you heavily isn't waiting to take exhilaration in complete 1080P uncompressed HD content by potential of factor. yet judging from the certainty that your dad's television does not have HDMI, it in all probability isn't 1080P. So loss of HDMI somewhat does not remember.(permit me wager, it is an previous rear-projection dinosaur lol)
