I am not a practicing christian but occationally enjoy evangelical TV, watching the converted being preached too and stroked of their money. It's like wrestling, all stage managed and sugar coated phony, but it doesn't try to hide it's motives. It's in your face selling God at the best price they can squeeze. Compared to mainstream TV, do you think it's fun and enjoyable entertainment, if nothing else.

I think you all are sad.

You see a mistake made by a few people and run with it. The idea that all people are into faith for money is a lie from the devil and is most inaccurate. The truth of it is that, if you get your head on strait and have a personal relationship with Christ than your life will be most fulfilled. God knows the secret desires of your heart and as long as they fall within his guidelines then he will deliver them to you.

Don't let the foolish mistakes of a few decide your fate. A honest and open relationship with Christ is the only answer.

God Bless.

Hey, I'm a Christian, but I also think that evangelical tv is entertaining. The difference between me and them is I'm not a fundamentalist. These people you see on TBN or whatever are fundamental and often charismatic pentecostals. I agree that much of it is a ruse to get money. Benny Hinn is a prime example. And Pat Robertson is a legalistic, judgemental a**hole, and I can't believe half the things that come out of his mouth. So I agree with you, but just don't go away thinking that all Christians are like that, because we definitely are not. For me, Christianity means living my life as a testimony of God's grace to me, b/c I sure wasn't worth anything, but God chose to save me anyway. And if you never give me or Him a red cent, that's between you and Him. :)

I get a big kick out of Benny Hinn. He is so charismatic and weird. He kinda like a car accident, you want to crane your neck and keep on looking and you just don't know why?

It is all of the above except it is not bland news it is exciting news especially when one of the evangelists goes into the confessional on television, O' God please forgive me for buying (but not using) that meth, for paying that young man for sex, and for telling my followers that it was a sin to be homosexual, O' please forgive me and send money..
