Yes, a man can be a woman's best friend, even when both are straight. I'm female, and have a male best friend. Neither of us wants to risk losing what we have by being romantic. We do say "I love you" to each other, and mean it.

The answer could be yes or no. Why? Three reasons man wanna be woman's friend:
1. Real Friendship.
2. Business Only.
3. Love.
and I guess woman has sixth sense to notice one of reasons above.

I think it is possible, but I also think that it's rare. And, I think that a man can be a woman's best friend and have a sexual interest in her. This would be kind of like love.

I have a wonderful friend in an ex. No strings attached; no sexual advances. I am married and he showed just respect. But the love is beyond sexual advances because we once had such wonderful intimate love for each other. With maturity it is possible to have a man as a best friend. Even if he is one of your ex.
Younger people hot with lust may not comprehend.

i definitely think it is possible! As a kid my best friend was a guy and also throughout high school had another very close guy friend. some girls just find it easier to be friends with guys. i know i loved getting a guy's perspective that i can trust on things. i think it takes a special guy though, to not want to take it to the next level, i personally lost a guy friend after 10 years of friendship because he wanted more.

Oh no, I am a man who is many girl's best (or one of the best) friend. As long as you are a good friend and treat them well you can be anyone's best friend really. (And no, I am straight, so don't think that i can be their best friend cause I'm not interested...)

Yes, a guy can be a womans bestfriend and not be after anything else. Not all men are heartless. You have to know him before he can be your best friend and if you don't know him then he's not really your bestfriend.

Not really. Women require too much from a best friend that a man is clueless about.
