I have 2 cats one is "Minue" My Mother in-law, French Canadian,
called all my cats Minue! and the other "Gateeko" , I've been told that is about as close as I could come to the phonic spelling for little cat in Spanish. A south american dialect!
and last but not least "Kowteea" and I'm not sure where this
is from but I was told it was a north american indian word! what it means I have no idea I just liked the sound! and my duaghter had named her that!
We had a dog named "ISH" when I was a kid, I can't remember what the language but it was supposed to mean first and finest! something like that!
you got some good replies here.
Good luck!

For some reason some of my animals end up being either Scottish or Irish. I have a Kittles McPittles a Stevie McPeevie and a Foster McBoster. Then there's Sockie Monster Man,
Mini-Man, Buddy Buddy Boo Boo Head, Geejer Peejer, and Poopie Mutt.
Don't even ask how their names came to be. I really couldn't tell you. And yes, I live out in the country where there's plenty of room for all of them.

On my grandpa's farm, there was a cat named Hitler. Nothing antisemitic about it; the cat was black with a pure white face, except a round black mark under it's nose. Can you see why now?
