Its a record of all your work experience so far. It is a Word document divided into sections.
Start with name, address, cell no and email address at top.
Then list your educations achievements (starting with newest - where u went to school, what qualifications you got).
Then list your skills (e.g. singing, acting etc and write a sentence or two about these).
Then any work experience (e.g. summer job in a shop) again starting with newest.
Then list your hobbies and interests.
Site 2 good references (people who know u and would be prepared to tell your agent you are great. preferable people who know you in a professional capacity).

There are loads of good examples online. Just type in Resume Template to your search engine and off you go. The key is to make it individual to you and tailored for each job you apply for.

1.Personal Details
2.Career Objective
3.Professional Experience
4.Work Experience(optional)
5.Professional Affiliations
6.Education
7.Awards

1.Resume Personal Details

List your name, surname, postal address, email address, contact phone numbers

2.Career Objective

A definition of your career Career Objective. Your career objective / personal profile should be defined three lines or less.

3.Professional Experience
This is the most important section of a professional resume. This section should list your key skills along with proof of how you gained these skills. For example, if one of your skills is event organisation, list the events and conventions you have organised.
Use a simple format to show your skills : Skill 1
Achievement 1 related to Skill A
Achievement 2 related to Skill A

4.Work Experience
This is where you list previous jobs. Also include any unpaid or voluntary work that you've done.
This is optional Your work history isn't strictly required in a functional resume although listing it will show potential employers that you have nothing to hide.
If you work history is irregular, there may well be more disadvantages than benefits by listing it, in which case, skip this part.
Include: year start - year finish, job title , name of organisation , job description in each of your work history items.

5.Professional Affiliations

List any relevant, active professional affiliations in this section. If you are in doubt as to whether an affiliation will help get the contract signed, don't list it.

6.Educational Qualifications in your Resume

Here you should include the highest qualification you've gained & any special courses that you think will help you secure the position.

7.Awards

List any relevant awards in this section.

Graduates can also add some personal information in their resume.

1. What IS a resume anyway?
Remember: a Resume is a self-promotional document that presents you in the best possible light, for the purpose of getting invited to a job interview.
It's not an official personnel document. It's not a job application. It's not a "career obituary"! And it's not a confessional.

2. What should the resume content be about?
It's not just about past jobs! It's about YOU, and how you performed and what you accomplished in those past jobs--especially those accomplishments that are most relevant to the work you want to do next. A good resume predicts how you might perform in that desired future job.

3. What's the fastest way to improve a resume?
Remove everything that starts with "responsibilities included" and replace it with on-the-job accomplishments. (one way to write them.)

i hope that helps and good luck with your acting career

There should be a lot of resume books at the local bookstore or library with excellent examples. Professionals generally recommend Not putting hobbies or references on the actual resume though the job application itself may ask those questions. For references, they usually suggest typing at the bottom of the resume "References Available Upon Request" (without the quotations ;) Always send a cover letter along with the resume as another postee mentioned as the cv gives a brief expansion of one's resume. They also say to try to keep the resume (and cover letter) to one page.

I agree with Big B... There are some very shady people in this industry, make sure your parents are aware of everything you are doing.
