Is there any major difference between light and dark rosins? Is one more recommended than the other? Just wondering.

I also heard somewhere that one kind is better for winter, while the other is better for the summer...does anyone know about this?

Oh, this is a violin/stringed instrument question, for those of you that seem confused.

darker is heavier I think.

dark rosin is thicker and it is better for cold weather climates were as light Rosin is thinner and is better to use in the humidity..... all other brands of rosin is just a preference......good luck
