I have a test and was wondering if ya know the answer the question is...
There is a zoo owner and he has a statue over the years acid rain has affected the rock statue and slowly the metal letters what could the zoo owner put on the letters to protect them from acid rain?

He could apply a base to the letters. Acids and bases are opposite and neutralize one another. If he added the correct base, the acid would be neutralized and would not erode the letters.

The reason the base would not work is that it is in itself corrosive and would eat away the letters.

Believe it or not, a layer of vaseline would work, but it would have to be reapplied. Another option would be to cover it with glass or clear plastic, again replacing it every so often.

I would put a glass covering over it. Why neutralize the acid if you could just avoid it all together?
