Tog for tog rating they will both be the same 'heat' but the goose will be a lot lighter in weight. However feather and down is normally a higher proportion of feathers than 'down and feather' which has more down than feathers and will therefore feel less 'stalky'
I would try and get a pure goose down if you can afford the extra, sheer luxury!!
Ikea are good quality and keenly priced.

The best feather is probably subjective. My personal choice is Canadian Northern Goose down.

Most products you get from the retail stores are low quality/high priced stuff. The products from down-feather-bedding.com is definately a cut above the retail store offerings.
