my computer has dvd player/burner ... supports dual layer... I burned a DVD using my cable DVR.. why cant i watch this DVD on my computer ??? where can i go to correct this?

You might have incompatible formats. Some DVRs use the DVD-RAM format, which is not supported by all DVD drives. Most drives are DVD+R, DVD-R, or both, but only a few are DVD-RAM compatible.

you need a dvd codec. i dont think there are any free, so you will need to buy 1. if you need one look for cineplayer codec or just go to a computer store and ask.

do you have dvd playing software eg:- nero, power dvd or similar? even media player will play dvds

just try DivX to play the movies and it will also gie you the codex that you need for the movies automatically, and to bunr them use Nero or Daemon tools. DivX is free at www.divx.com

You will need a program that reads movie DVDs such as WinDVD.

it doesnt like your decoder program or it was burned wrong...try any dvd with nero six or seven...
