i marry a man who owes back child support and i am wondering if my wages can be garnish

It varies from state to state, and I would recommend consulting with an attorney, but yes, the household income can determine the amount that can garnish from his wages, they usually don't garnish the non-parents income. Hold on, it's about to get bumpy.

I don't think so. But if he is taken to court, the shared expenses will be taken in mind.

You KNEW he had baggage before he married you, and those kids came first anyway, so deal with whatever a judge imposes.

And I agree with teh previous poster. Why marry someone who abandoned his offspring? He'll do it again, dear. But of course, he already told you it is the ex's fault.

Your income has nothing to do with HIS children and HIS child support. It will affect your household income of course because his check helps support the household, but as far as your check is concerned, they can't touch it for child support.

It is possible since under most marriage-laws you are responsible for his debts. You definitely should have looked harder at him prior to marriage!

Oops! I don't know. Looks like you married the wrong guy. If he's not taking care of his own offspring, he's not likely to take good care of you, is he?

no they cant, its not your kid and you owe nothing, they will get your hubby and his half of the taxes
