I love scary movies but when I pick one up at the video store I am more often disappointed then not.
Without mentioning the classics everyone knows like The Exorcist, The Shining, etc… What do you think is a truly scary movie?

The Haunting. The original, not that stupid CGI remake. The director understood that what you don't see is what really makes it terrifying.

Omega Man - Old Charlton Heston doomsday flick.

Personally, I like anything with this theme. 28 Days Later, Dawn Of The Dead, etc...

Nightmare on Elmstreet always bothered me....Freddie is pretty darn scary!

i thought the hills have eyes was scary...and american haunting was pretty good, um wrong turn, wolf creek scared the hell out of me, the grudge and the descent was pretty good too
