Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

It's too easy to treat with Monistat to just wait until it goes away. I had a yeast infection when I was about 13-14 years old, and I was too shy to say anything about it. It did go away (I can't remember how long it took...at least a week I think), but if it happened now, I would definitely treat it.

No, it won't just go away. It may appear to get better, maybe, but then it will recur and become much worse. If you don't want to go to the doctor, you can try one of the over-the-counter yeast infection creams. They usually work. If you don't see improvement within a week, though, you'd better go to the doctor just-in-case.

no, you have to take medication. If you are having symptoms of a yeast infection and it goes away on its own, it could be hormones. I do that right before my period. If it's not I recommend seeing a Dr.

No, you need Monistat, I believe it's over the counter now- so just go to your pharmacy. PS you do not need an antibiotic as someon stated, they actually CAUSE the yeast infections.

Not in my experience. The few times when I tried to just "let is pass" I was nearly in tears by the time I got treated. Once I let it go too long and the insert didn't work so I had to get the pill from the doc and then my husband got it and gave it back to me and then he was in pain and we both had to take the pill. It is so extremely painful if you just let it go. I am guessing that some lucky girls out there have had them go away but not me so I would say get treated. I have heard it is possible though to insert plain yogurt but then you also have to stop eating weight products and drinking pop or alcohol.

You need to use medicine or it can become worst. Go to your doctor for recommendations or you can also go to your local pharmacy. I had one when I was 17 and a virgin at the time and my doctor recommended Monistat 7, which worked on the very first day.

Good luck with that.

Not to my knowlege. You can buy Monostat or Canesten (which I prefer) over the counter, or go to the Doc & get a prescription for Diflucan. It's only 1 pill that you get and it works very well.
