If anything, get a censored version of the CD. She has a bit of a foul mouth.
Personally, I wouldn't buy it at all. My radio station put together a concert with her at a local college. After all the work and planning, she threw a fit and wouldn't go on stage because she didn't think there was enough people in the crowd. She showed that she doesn't give a damn about her fans. Apparently she had done that at a few shows prior to ours. Even the rep from her record label asked to be pulled off of that artist because she's such a b*tch to work with.

Lady Sovereign is an English rapper, or "the biggest midget in the game". I love her song "Love Me or Hate Me". She's good, but for a 13 yr. old, it might be a little too much.

There you can listen to some of the songs, and decide yourself whether its worth buying. I imagine that there must be a censored version in the shops as well to cover the profanities.

You will experience a blend of pop bubblegum music with rap. Imagine the Spice girls rapping instead of singing and that's what you will get. Warning, there are two versions. There is one that's clean and one with cussing. The clean version doesn't have the parental advisory sticker.

Lady Sovereign is still a teenager herself, only 19 years old. She doesn't swear that bad, just the odd F word now and then, nothing to be worried about. He probably hears more swearing than that from his friends at school.
I'd say go ahead and buy it for him. ;-)
