I'm not all that overweight, I just have a bad snacking habit in the afternoons when the baby is sleeping...

Get rid of the snacks. It takes 30 days to break a bad habit. You have to be strong during that time. Get a hobby--try scrap booking. You can do that when the baby goes down for a nap. Call a friend, read a good book, wash clothes (I'm sure you have plenty of laundry with a baby). So many things you can do to busy yourself so you don't eat. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, eat 6 very small meals. That, too, will help you not to snack. Just keep your portions very small.

If you're familiar with hypnosis, then you've no doubt heard of Master Hypnotist Steve G. Jones. His book, "Ultimate Conversational Hypnosis" has been voted as the best hypnosis course ever made. The book is also available in electronic format at: http://www.hypnosistocontrol.net

If you want to get an edge in everyday communication and lead other people towards your goals this is a must read.

instead of hypnotism why not try self-control? Find something else to occupy your free time when the baby sleeps. Try crafting or reading or a home project you've been waiting to get started on. Even if it catching up with friends and talking on the phone. You have to remember you are in control.

Hypnotizism is all about the power of suggestion. When a person is "hypnotized" they are freeing their mind from everything, basically leaving an open slate. Not all people can be hypnotized because they are unwilling to have suggestions put upon them. If I told you to hold out your arm and started telling you that there is a bus laying ontop of it, there is a tremendous pressure on your arm, and keep suggesting it your arm will start to feel heavy, but if you keep telling your self, no its not, then it isnt going to feel like it. So, your answer is no, you can't hypnotize yourself because you need to be totally relaxed and open. You can be trying to hypnotize yourself but then have a confliction like you really want that cookie and you will get nowhere. The mind is a tricky thing.
