Just curious....

There were a few ID issues at my polling place, nothing too major...one or two people turned away. It was busier than usual too. Yeah, I didn't like not having a paper reciept either...it doesn't make sense to me. I also don't recall seeing "Incumbent" on the ticket either, but maybe I just overlooked it...you are very observant :o).

Ugh, yes.

I recently moved counties and had to re-register. I followed the information listed on my voter's registration card today--to a defunct polling location. It was a high school that is completely under construction--there was no voting going on there at all. Funny that there wasn't a sign or anything directing people to the right place--I had to call 411 to connect with the voter registration office, was on hold for twenty minutes, finally found out my correct polling location--went to vote, mentioned they might want to put a sign up at the other location. They said they had sent out a mailing detailing the new polling location and all eligible voters had received it. Hmmm. . . funny. Not this registered voter. I stuck with it until I found out where I was supposed to vote--but I have no doubt that other people just went back home.

grrrrr.

I voted today around 8:30-9 am. I had absolutely no problems, there was only one person in front of me in line. I used a touch screen machine, but it was the kind that had a paper receipt that you look at behind glass, and then you accept it, and it advances into the machine. You don't keep your receipt, the machine does. I am in Cook County, IL, and we are supposed to have the option to use a touchscreen machine, or to use an optical scan ballot. I was not asked which I wanted to use. It seemed like they weren't using the optical scan type at all.

It didn't indicate who was the incumbent for me, and when you review your selections on the screen, AND when you look at it on the paper receipt, it doesn't even indicate the party of the candidate. The only place it indicates it is where you actually select who you want to vote for. I really wish it would have indicated the party when you reviewed it, it would have made it much easier!

I voted today. My polling precinct used the new electronic voting machines. The problem we had was that they did not have enough of the voting cards that slide in to the machine! When I went, there were about 50 people that were either voting or waiting to vote, and the line to check in to vote was about 10 people long because they ran out of the little cards! Took me 30 minutes to cast a 30 second vote!!!

Yes, Texas has voting machines that are electronic with no paper back up. So if we need a recount and lose a hard drive, what then? Why don't the politicians want a paper recpt. We get on at all ATM's and gas pumps and everywhere else. Hasn't anyone in Washington figured out that the American public in general don't trust any of them on the hill? And can anyone else that used an electronic voting machine without a paperback. Walk off wandering if their vote was even registered? If people can hack into the Pentagon. They can hack into these voting machines. Just a receipt, that's all I want.

I got to the poles at 6am and I was voter # 4 but still had to wait 45 minutes. The glitches were because of the new computer systems. The were not working well this morning and we all went to paper ballots.

All and all though I am just thankful to have the opportunity to vote!!!

Not yet, but since I voted with an electronic machine last time, I doubt there will be an issue. It's all secure, and you get a printed receipt showing your vote, if there is a problem. I guess Georgia was a new tech state last election, since it's still the same machines as last time.

I voted on my way to work about 7 a.m. I didn't have any problems. Lousiana has been using the touch screen machines for a couple of years.

Voted, no problem with anything. Electronic voting system worked first time, no ID issues, nothing bad to report.

Yes I did vote.No problems, but one thing I found curious was that the ballot didn't state who the incumbent is. I always remember it having been-this state is weird...who knows.

I had no issues. Voted in Northern Virginia just before 7am. Had touch screen voting machine that worked just fine.
