The Raiders are hardly a measuring stick for any great accomplishment. Shutouts are nice no matter who you get them against but 16 points is a long way from showing the NFC that they are in contention to repeat as NFC champs.

I don't think you can take much from a victory over a team like the Raiders.

The true measuring stick for Seattle will be their schedule a few weeks from now when Hasselbeck and Alexander return. They've only got a few really difficult games left - home against St. Louis, Denver and San Diego - so I'd expect that getting those guys healthy and in the lineup will allow them to finish up with a pretty good record.

When healthy, I think it's pretty obvious that they're the best team in that division and one of the best in the NFC. They're definitely a contender again this season.

I'm not sure they proved anything. The only teams to lose to the Raiders are the even-worse Cardinals and slumping Steelers. They still will probably win the division. If they make the playoffs, they'll have Alexander and Hasselbeck back, and maybe hit their stride.

In a way, yes. Beating Oakland is no tough thing to do these days, but Seattle avoided the trap game. They were the better team and despite injuries to key players, they played like they were the better team. Consistant teams will win the easier games on their schedule. Seattle just did that.

Beating the Raiders was like going up against a college team so no.

Yeah because their defense did good and the offense might still need work but I read that Alexander might be back for next week so they got even more hope.

Considering it was the Raiders and not a real top tier team I don't think so
