Being Agnostic, I believe that all we're supposed to do is make ourselves content.

This doesn't mean I think all people should only think of themselves. What it means is that I believe people respect others because it makes them feel good about themselves, and because it allows people to communicate with the ones they love.

I believe that doing "evil" things, while they may in the short term benefit the self, will ultimately cause harm to you, and should not be done logically for that reason.

I think there's two types of selfishness - the so-called "selfless" type of being a positive person, which is morally correct and the only true way to live a fulfilling life, and the "narrow-minded" form of selfishness, which is to hurt others in order to reach self-pleasure, which is ultimately destructive and causes people to live a cursed life of self-hate.

Morbid thoughts - always dwelling on the disturbing side of things ;)

I also believe that everything we do is ultimately done because it makes us feel better about ourselves. There is no such thing as true altruism. You should read "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.
