With my second son I was about 25 lbs overweight when I got pregnant. I lost 5 lbs in the first 3 months and then spent the entire rest of the pregnancy trying to gain that 5 lbs back. I didn't gain any weight and my son was born at 37 weeks, 7 lbs 1 oz, and extremely healthy. They wrote full term on the chart. My midwife was never concerned because I was overweight and my son was registering just right with the measurements. Good luck.

This happened to a friend of mine. She only gained 10 pounds by 30 weeks or so - by the time she delivered she was up to 15 or so. Her baby was healthy and she did not go early. As long as your doing everything right you should be OK!

If your doctors are worried, it can't be good. Especially if you are eating like a pig. It will depend on your starting weight. For example, I was considered overweight when I got pregnant for the second time. They didn't want me to gain any weight. When they found it was twins, they changed that. I only gained 9 pounds with twins and that is very unlikely BUT I was walking everyday and taking care of a 3 year old. If you are really worried, keep a record of what you eat and take it to the doctor with you next time. that way, he can see exactly what you are eating. Keep track of any exercise as well. Good luck to you.

Were you overweight when you got pregnant? If so that is why and I wouldn't worry about it. But if you are not then your doctors are theones who should tell you what to do. I was a few pounds over my normal weight when I got pregnant and I was told only to gain 15 pounds. I am 27 weeks pregnant right now and I have only gained 11 pounds which is really good.

The biggest factor here is if you are overweight.....
I was not overweight (5'4" and 127 pre-pregnancy) and I had "Insufficient weight gain" in big red letters on my chart LOL
I only gained about 25 pounds total with both of my pregnancies and had 8 lbs 10 ounce baby boys each time.
I delivered on time and just kept on eating right and taking vitamins. If your doctors are worried, they will test you.

Were you overweight before becoming pregnant? Someone I know is about six months pregnant and they are not even able to tell the sex of the baby by ultrasound because the fetus is so small. The woman is gaining weight, but it seems the baby is not. Such are the dangers of getting pregnant while you're not healthy.

My last child I gained between 9 and 10 it would change daily. He was 8lbs.8oz. So really as long as the ultrasounds are checking out fine I don't think you have much to worry about. who knows you might do what I did my first pregnancy and gain 15 the last two weeks of your pregnancy.

When I delivered my son I had only gained 6 pounds my entire pregnancy. He was delivered at 37 weeks which they considered to be full term but I was very sick all of my pregnancy with morning sickness. But he was perfectly healthy and is big and strong , normal 2 year old boy. So don't worry.

different people gain differently. What are the doctors saying about the baby? does she/he look fine? if so I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you are eating like you are supposed to and eating the right things I wouldn't worry. Your baby just may be gaining all the weight instead of you and the baby gaining the weight.

With my 2nd pregnancy, I only gained 5lbs the entire 42 weeks...The dr's said I was fine, as was the baby, And he was born weighing 8lbs, 8oz...
With this pregnancy, I've only gained 12lbs (I'm 39wks)...And again, They've said everything is fine! :-)
Btw- I'm not a 'big' person..I'm tall, And have a 'bigger' bone structure, But I'm not overweight... 5'8 1/2" and 157lbs before baby.
