naa its not racism, because thats to do with skin color/ethnic origin. Some people are just narrow minded and can't accept what they don't understand so lash out. Also some people just think they are king or queens so anybody thats different from them they just look down on and put down. but then agen certain people that claim to be "emo" or "prep" give others a bad name by the way they act etc and so many people judge these groups on the behaviour of minorities. (every social group has ppl like this)
I like anyone.. as long as they are decent people..

You know, until now, I've never actually laughed at a question. You take the cake, child.

No, it's not racism. Racism is when someone is treated badly because of their RACE. You know, African-American, Caucasian, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Indian (from India), etcetera. There's also different ethnicities (people from Ireland, people from Italy, etcetera). Those are races.

Emos and preps are social groups, and some people hate them because they think they're only being the way they are because they want the attention, and some people dislike them because they just don't like those social groups. No one likes any one thing, and you are just as entitled to like emos and punks and preps and goths and whatever else the kids have invented these days as I am to be irritated by them and wonder why it matters, what the point of the image is, and why the kids can't just be kids anymore. There's nothing exciting or edgy about being "punk rawk" - I'm beginning to think it's mostly just a way to get on the nerves of adults. (Or insert any of the other social groups of teens in the place of "punk rawk".)

Really, though, to answer your question - no, it's not a form of racism. That's like saying I can't hate members of the KKK because that's racism. A social group isn't a race. A social group can have any race or gender of people in it, because it's just a group.

Hopefully, I've made my point clear.

Racism has to do with race..and that is a title that people give themselves. IT has nothing to do with your origin. I don't know what to call it...except high school angst and a battle for power in the school. Everyone picks on everyone, its a way of life.
