I know what you mean, doll. I went through a tough existance in highschool in a redneck town. I actually got beat up a lot for it. People think anything different (piercings, tattoos, dyed hair, black, black eyeliner..etc) means you're a "goth." I'm so tired of labels. Don't label yourself or anyone, be yourself. People are so ignorant...But it's not their fault. It was how they've been raised...

What do I think? I don't think anything of it. There's nothing wrong with it. If you do what you do because you like it, that's great, Honey. If you are doing it to be different, to get attention, or to offend people(not say you are, it's an example of some sort), then quit it, and just be yourself! Do and wear what you want, don't worry what people think.

I figure that you're young and have an alternative appearance because you use the word "prep" a lot. Calm down, stop labelling back and ignore their rude comments.

You cannot make them stop or 'shut up'. People are cruel, people are taught to hate, hate or fear things different or something that they don't understand. Be stronger and better than them. Become a strong person that is not swayed by people's cruelty. Be strong, and do not change for anyone. Be aware that unfortunately freedom of expression is not appreciated among society, although we advocate the whole 'everyone should be their own person' crap. You are heckled and made fun of for expressing your individuality. So be tough.

The only people I would consider "goths" are the old school 80's,the real ones, such as Souxsie(Souxsie and the Banshees) and Robert Smith (The Cure)...etc..

Do what you do because you want to, don't let the bastards get you down. Message me if you ever want to.

I think if you baby bats knew more about goth, this and similar questions wouldn't be in the Beauty and Style section, and besides, a real goth would likely not care what others said of their clothing or makeup. And a normal person would have to read your question three times to understand it. Do yourself a favor and please stay in the eighth grade.

i used to get that kind of comments when i was in school last time .. probably because of my dark lipstick with black eyeshadow n eyeliner... some even call me a witch ,, how cruel is that .. ..so now even though i cant leave home without my black eyeshadow n eyeliner.. i sort of tone down the blush n lipcolour to make it more natural .. dont worry i respect what yr image is .. dont bother about these people.. somehow i believe thye envy u in some ways.. thats why

because of the fact they're insecure and ought to tear human beings all the way down to experience sturdy. Its humorous the persons who're seen as "commonplace" and gossip each and every of the time. they have the worst vanity. They %. on common objectives. regardless of while you at the instant are not grotesque you're able to be able to nicely be a loner or unique finding or regardless of the case could be. you realize what i advise? basically forget approximately them and stay good or enable them to renowned you heard them. maximum persons shutup after that lol. ok you are what i like to call a "label whore". it does not matter if you're a "prep", a "goth", "emo", "punk","cheerleader", or "geek". IT DOES NOT MATTER!!!! Ok tell me this: when u look at "preps", do you ddisagree with how they look and dress? thats how they feel about you. everyone has an opinion. u should not label yourself with how much make up you wear or how you dress.

The black liner is fine, but 2 much black will just make people judge you in awful ways.I would do what you think is best.Just not 2 much black.

I think that you are too young to be posting. Reread your question, it seems childish and defensive. We live in a world today where you are judged on your appearance, and yes, dressing "goth" is considered abnormal and if you wear stuff in that fashion you will most likely get prejudged by people before they get to know you.

I think you want to stand out and apart from preps. Unfortunately, you're just exchanging one conformity for another. It's okay, we all like to feel like we belong. You just feel better and like you belong with people who dress goth. Nothing wrong with that.

Your opinion is the only one that counts. Do what you like if you're not hurting anyone. And just ignore those who would insult you. The only reason they would insult you is because they aren't completely happy or confident in themselves. You can rise above that.
