Not even the CD-ROMS that have MB repair details for some models have the details of the transmissions. As far as I know these are only available on microfiche. These are held by dealers and some specialist transmission shops. I had bags of trouble with a MB transmission from an '83 model some years ago, the plain fact is that MB transmissions are not repairable by Johnny Average Transmission Shop who are more used to US and Japanese auto boxes. Your only hope is to remove the transmission and have it repaired by an expert or replaced with a rebuilt one.

The park pawl is still engaged. You need a qualified Mercedes Benz technician, not a manual. You can spend a lot of money replacing unnecessary parts or take it to someone who knows what they are doing and have the right part replaced one time and be back on the road again.

When you replaced the torque converter did you make sure the front pump is sealed correctly? If its not the loss of pressure will result in the car not engaging the gears. Also have you checked the flex discs on the car?

i don't know if this help but try buying a Haynes Manual from an autodealer shop. I know they make it for all major cars (i got one for my BMW) but not sure if they go into that detail. Worth a try though.
