Well, besides being a wonderful actress I think she is unique, in her acting ability (the way she aborbs a character and plays it), and in her beauty. She isn't beautiful in a mainstream kind of way, but is still so beautiful, and that was especially true in her younger years. I always loved her cheekbones and facial structure, and her golden blonde hair. She is a major star but comes across as the everyday woman, and she has an amazing ability to play so many different roles. She plays drama and comedy to perfection. The best example of her outstanding acting skills in a drama is her role in Sophie's Choice--that movie really shows Meryl Streep's range as an actress and her beauty. Well, she is unique.

She is such a natural actress with an infectuous
laugh who can play just about any part and she
can even sing which is a plus.

She's just so natual. She completely embodies her characters and you forget about her as the movie star - you only see the character. That, to me, is the mark of a great actor.
