there's a dance where basically everyone grinds. Based on my friend's experience, and he's less nerdy than me, no one danced with him so i have no chance. is there anyway to alter this aka make me come across as less nerdy?

Embrace your inner nerd. My boyfriend is a HUGE nerd, no lie. And that is one of his best qualities to me. Sure, I get mad when he stays up all night playing video games or won't stop trying to explain comic heroes to me, but I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

First, stop putting yourself down. If you mean you are intelligent and do your homework and don't do things past your age and turn yourself into an idiot for the sake of popularity, congratulate yourself. You are one of the few who will make a well-rounded, successful adult.

Show confidence. Be okay with who you are and go up to a girl who is not dancing or flirting with everyone around and ask her. She's likely thinking the same as you are, that she has no chance of dancing with anyone. Look for someone sweet, not arrogant. And don't try to grind! Ewww... That's for people with no self-respect. Be a gentleman and she may even dance with you more than once. ;-)

I'd say, learn to dance for real. This is good and perfectly nerdy approach. Once you learn to move your body well, you can do grinding and so much more than grinding. You will learn it in no time and you will be better than the average crowd as a far as moving your body goes.

I'd suggest Latin dance classes like Rumba, Cha-Cha, Jive, Samba. Well, if you are real nerd I don't need to tell you more, you know how to look stuff up.

properly, the gorgeous, everyday ladies at my college are all bitches, stay faraway from ladies like that. Cuz at my college, if the prettiest woman asked out a nerd, it may be a comedian tale, and human beings might laugh on the nerd for questioning she replaced into being intense. i comprehend it somewhat is harsh, yet that's what happens at my college, they're all sarcastic and recommend. it is so harsh. yet don't get me incorrect, which could be a thoroughly distinctive case with you, i'm particular your no longer a nerd, only on account which you're annoying working and have been given strict parents does no longer make you a nerd. i detect the nerds ensue to be the nicest boys in college. I in no way flirt with immature gamers. And in case you do no longer fancy her returned, there's no longer something you're able to do. yet ascertain this is the marvelous determination cuz a boy asked me out, I grew to become him down, now I sense sorry approximately that lots. i'm 14 btw. it somewhat is a stable determination to no longer date until eventually college. in case your extra gentle that way persist with it! maximum everyday youthful youngsters i comprehend, take it too heavily and get too clingy, youthful love is meant to basically be exciting and making waiting for destiny love. and that i think of it somewhat is low while all human beings is classed as everyday and nerds, human beings should not be classed, all people are as equivalent as eachother, no count the character, desire this enables :D stable success! Rosie :)

Learn the tango or how to fox trot, then change the make up of the dance. Watch some dance contests or some dance movies to see how to move better....like "Take the Lead" is a good one.

i think there's a concept you're missing here, called "achievable goals". first, figure out how to get comfortable with the girls at the dance, maybe dance a bit without touching first. save the grind for the next dance....

find yourself some friends that are girls, and ask them to help you out. if thats not a possibility, find a local bar that has a live band, and ask someone to dance. if you are a younger guy, you will probably have good luck with a lady that is older than you, let her lead the way. the best piece of advice my good girl-friend gave to my fiance when she was helping teach him to dance was to "be the pole." good luck!

Basically let her do all the work....and as someone said before "be the pole" move a little.....but not a whole lot. Let her set the rythm, and go with it.
