well i would have to say that i'm not so sure, i know that i do and so does my brother and just about my whole family. I'm not proud of the fact that i smoke but i do, and it's not something that i can eisily stop. I'm 14 by the way. I know tons of my friends smoke, but that is not why i do. I was not peer pressured into it and i don't do it because i think i'm cool either. It's not cool- trust me. But i'm not sure exactly how many people in kansas do... not all kids are compleatly honest with the surveys that the schools do... but there are websites that will tell you the stastistics of those surveys... sorry i'm not sure what the sites are though...hope that helped a little.

ps. don't be judgemental of kids that do smoke!

The best info seems to be from 2000 by the Kansas Youth Tobacco Survey. It was about 12% of students in grades 6-8 and 33.6% of high school students that used a tobacco product (not just for smoking). This only counts the kids that took the survey so the numbers aren't exact. If you go to the links, it shows more info like what brands they smoked etc..

They did the survey again in 2002 and the results were different.
*29% of high school students used at least one form of tobacco.
*Almost 21% of girls in grades 9-12 were smokers.
*21% of all high school students were smokers
