There are so many stories of hideous crimes, yet the punishments are a joke. It seems that there's a groundswell of support out there for reforms, we just need a place to get it organized and do something with all the information. I know the love i have in my heart for animals is very strong, as it obviously is for many of you. If we could do something positive with all that love for the animals & the venom we feel for those who harm them, we could make a real difference in the lives of atleast some of God's creatures.

The most effective way to have an impact is to act locally. I would start by contacting my city council representative and present your concerns to him/her and see if this person would be williing to support municipal legislation. You can also try to work with your state senator or representative as well. You might also want to talk to your local chapter of the Humane Society, to see if they have any community programs that you can get involoved with.

If you live in a western state (such as Arizona) you can try to write a ballot proposition, collect the signatures of voters and get your issues on the next ballot as well. Good luck

Obviously you know nothing about animal cruelty laws, they are way to strict as it is, you seem very naive, my advice is find something better to do with your life, maybe you should get an education, or some more life experiance, talk to real people, not those who surround you.

My god I have no problem with keeping animals from being tortured but dont give them the right to vote, people like you really scare me. Go to petakills.com

Instead of creating MORE laws in this country, how about trying to fix the actual problem -- the number of sickos out there who seem to think it is perfectly acceptable to behave like a savage? This stems from the breakdown in society that has been happening since, oh... the sixties.

Get involved with your local government. Even run for city counsel.
