I replaced the tensioner, but it seems the new belt seems to have too much slack....The part number on the new belt is the exact same on the old belt. Both are goodyear gator back serpentine belts.And i routed the belt the same as before.The old belt was damaged. Any tips?

You must have the belt routed wrong, there might be a sticker on the underside of the hood, that shows the belt diagram of how it is routed, if not either try routing it different ways or go ask the dealer for a belt diagram.

my bonneville had a sticker with that on it under the hood. i think it may also be in the owner's manual. you could also ask where you bought the belt-most parts stores have this info.

ask your dealership give you a diagram that will help you. or go to your local parts store they can be helpful as well, or go to you make of car on-line & you can look it up in there web site
