First, get a lot of capital. Most magazines fail for lack of adequate capitalization.

Second, what makes your magazine distinctive? If you misunderstand the marketplace, you may not even get to a third issue.

Third, do you want to see if a major publisher might be interested in the magazine?

Fourth, what about distribution? A good magazine means nothing if it can get out there

You should develop a business plan and seek advertisers. Most of your revenues will be from advertisers not necessarily subscribers.
